Alumni Association

The Crossroads College Alumni Association is a vital part of Crossroads. It is here to support the College, its students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Some of the programs and events supported include:

  • student scholarships
  • alumni recruiting of prospective students
  • Distinguished Alumni Service Award

Alumni Officers 

JJ Miller (BA '07): President

JJ is a native of Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Crossroads College (BA, 2007). While a student he played soccer and was involved in Student Development. He was lucky enough to meet his wife, NaTasha, during his time at Crossroads.

JJ and NaTasha, reside in Apple Valley and he currently serves as the Associate Pastor of Community Life at Valley Christian Church in Rosemount, MN. JJ still plays soccer in his free time and serves in the community by teaching Technical Theater at Dakota Hills Middle School in Eagan. Even though he has lived in Minnesota for the past eight years, he has maintained a passion for his Green Bay Packers!


Mark Howells (BA '78): Non-Preaching Ministry Vice-President

Mark was born in AustinMinnesota and graduated from Austin High School in 1973. He grew up in MinnesotaCaliforniaVirginiaNebraskaIowa, and Illinois. Mark married the former Mary Kester of SheldonWisconsin in 1975. He is the father of three adult children; Matthew, Nathan (BA '04), and Andrea (BA '05).

Mark has served as Elder in Christian Church/Churches of Christ congregations in Faribault and Cleveland MinnesotaBrandonFlorida; and  SmyrnaGeorgia. He serves on the Pine Haven Christian Assembly board and is employed by a communications distributor in the areas of marketing and sales.

 

Michelle Larson (AA '79, BS '06): Secretary

 

Michelle (Gourley) Larson  is a graduate of the Crossroads Adult Studies program where she received her degree in Counseling.  She is currently working as the manager for Franz Reprographics in Rochester. Among Michelle's many talents is her decorating of trees for the annual  Hiawatha Homes Festival of Trees (this being her 12th year of participation). 

Michelle and her husband Stan (BS '07) make their home in Rochester where they are active members at Hope Summit Christian Church.  They are parents to three adult children: Julie (husband Tom, granddaughters, Claire and Emily), Jerrod, and Jay.  

 

Randy Hardy (BS '75): Board Member

Randy grew up in Austin, Minnesota.  After graduating from MBC, he served in a church in Faribault, Minnesota for 11 years.  He went on to get a Masters degree from Bethel Seminary in Historical Studies and from Mankato State University in Curriculum and Instruction.  He has been working as a literacy teacher for the past 15 years at Minnesota Correctional Facility - Faribault and also teaches philosophy classes part-time at South Central College.  He and his wife Laura together have eight adult children and four grandchildren.  They are members of St. Luke's Church (non-denominational) in Faribault where Randy serves on the Church Council and gets a chance to preach periodically.  He enjoys softball - both playing and umping, reading and studying, and traveling.

 

Jenny Karow (Class of '76-'77): Coordinator of Alumni Relations

 

Jenny (Hovland) Karow was born and raised in Austin, MN as one of 8 siblings.  Jenny and husband, Greg, live in Zumbrota and are members of Hope Summit Christian Church in Rochester.  They have 3 married sons (all of whom have attended MBC/Crossroads): Ian (Katie), Isaac (Terri, children: Ruthie, Joey, Ava, and ?-due in June 2012), and Erik (Jordan). Some of her favorite things are getting together with sons and their families as much as possible, reunions with siblings and extended family, travel, baseball games, and word puzzles.  

Jenny is in her 2nd decade of employment at Crossroads and changed jobs in 2011 from Admissions Administrative Assistant to Coordinator of Alumni Relations/Office Manager.  

 

Support to Education

Alumni are encouraged to support Crossroads College with their prayers and finances. In addition, any contributions designated "Alumni Scholarship Fund" will go to the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
