Faculty Position: Full-time Professor of Family & Youth  

Summary: Crossroads College seeks a professor in the area of Family & Youth, commencing with the 2014-15 academic year.  Applicants with prior college teaching experience are preferred.  Responsibilities include (i) teaching undergraduate Youth & Family Core courses, (ii) student advisement, (iii) contributing to assessment of student learning outcomes and other issues related to accreditation, (iv) speaking in chapel, (v) servicing in public relations and recruitment work for the college, (vi) speaking and/or lecturing at community, educational or professional groups when interest or expertise is needed, (vii) commitment to scholarly activities, and (viii) participation in all major college events.  Pay commensurate with credentials and experience.

The successful candidate will demonstrate undergraduate-level teaching competency in Youth & Family classes.  The appointee will also demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student mentorship, scholarly and professional engagement, and campus and community citizenship.  Crossroads College is committed to excellence in teaching, and the ideal candidate will value clear communication and effective instruction.  

Crossroads College is a four-year Evangelical Christian undergraduate institution.  Founded in 1913, the college equips students for leadership in many fields, with an emphasis on education for vocational ministry.  The college is located in Rochester, MN, a medium size city with a population of around 110,000.  It is a nice size, easy to get around and a good clean safe place to live, with Mayo Clinic, World Class Medical Care being its number one asset. The city had long been a fixture on Money magazine's “Best Places to Live” index, and was ranked number 67 on the 2006 list, and in the top 3, including number one multiple times, from 1993-1997.  Rochester was ranked #6 in the “10 Best Cities for the Next Decade” by the Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine July 2010.

Qualifications: A Ph.D./Ed.D. or a Master’s degree in a Family & Youth related field are acceptable.  Embracing the mission of Crossroads College and that of a Bible college education is also required.  Teaching experience preferred.
